The services offered by the laboratory include analysis of blood, sputum, urine and stool samples.

Private doctors from Manzini and the Lubombo region, and NGOs such as the Luke Commission, Hospice at Home and Medicine Sans Frontiere also refer patients to the hospital for laboratory work.

Through UNICEF funding the laboratory was extensively renovated and expanded in 2007. The infection control has subsequently improved and so has the capacity through the addition of a CD4 analyser. This machine is used to test the white blood cell count of HIV/AIDS patients, before and while patients are on ARV’s. Prior to the addition of this machine these test were done externally with a two week wait time for results.
